How do I find the MAC Address on my laptop?

Mac OS X

  1. Open System Preferences

  2. Select Network

  3. In the left-hand pane, select the name of the network to which you are currently connected

  4. Click Advanced in the lower right corner

  5. At the bottom of the windows, the device's MAC address will be listed next to "Wi-Fi address"

Windows 10

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt from the menu

  2. Type in "ipconfig /all" and press Enter. Your network configurations will display

  3. Scroll down to your network adapter and look for the values next to "Physical Address," which is your MAC address

Windows 8

  1. Press the Windows Start key to open the Start Menu

  2. In the search box, type "cmd" and press enter

  3. In the Command Prompt type "ipconfig /all" and press enter

  4. The MAC address will be listed next to "Physical Address"

Windows 7

  1. Open the Windows Command Prompt by clicking on the start menu and typing "cmd" in the search box and pressing enter

  2. In the Command Prompt, type "getmac" and press enter

  3. The MAC address will be listed under "Physical Address"


  1. Turn on your Chromebook

  2. Click the status area, where your account picture appears

  3. Click the section that says Connected to (and the name of your network)

  4. At the top of the box that appears, pick your network

  5. In the window that opens, the MAC address is the Hardware address
